What a year it’s been!
From humble beginnings 25 years ago with our very first property on Pakington Street to now managing over 25 properties that house more than 250 organisations and employ 2,500 people across the Greater Geelong region.
Today, we remain committed to our specialism in commercial property and have made bold moves towards providing end-to-end development services, by acquiring joinery, steel fabrication and roller blinds and adding them into our portfolio. Additionally, we have enjoyed further expanding our expertise into hospitality venues; both the build and fit out, and the overall management and operation. We’ve brought an exceptional team together, referred to as ‘Hamo Hospitality’ and are excited for what we have lined up. No matter how we evolve, one thing remains constant: we are Geelong through and through.
As 2024 wraps up, we find ourselves proudly reflecting on some stand out moments for the Group, recapped below:
- Industry Recognition: Our Woolstores precinct was shortlisted for UDIA Victoria’s Best Urban Renewal Project
- The Regent: We unveiled the beautifully restored façade of The Regent, bringing the iconic building’s exterior back to its stunning former art deco glory
- ISO Certified: We achieved ISO accreditation for 19001, 14001, and 45001, solidifying our commitment to globally recognised standard in all aspects of our business.
- Pavilion Joinery: We acquired a local joinery business, enhancing our ability to deliver our end-to-end building services.
- Expanding Property Portfolio: We expanded our portfolio with more heritage buildings across Geelong, including Henderson’s, Fyansford Paper Mills, and Pegasus.
- Paddock Bakery: We opened Paddock Bakery in the Federal Mills, secured a site for our third venue in Bendigo, bringing the beloved wood-fired sourdough and crème brûlée donuts from Burleigh Heads, QLD to regional Victoria.
- Bayside Demolition: We opened a third regional location, significantly boosting our operational capacity.
- Team Growth: Our team grew to over 250 members across our businesses, supporting our expanding operations and commitment to Greater Geelong opportunities.
- GP3L & Versatile Windows: We relocated GP3L and Versatile Windows to Pivot City, increasing their warehouse capacity by 400% and facilitating greater cross-company integration.
- Geelong Roller Blinds: We officially welcomed Alyssa and Geelong Roller Blinds into the Hamilton Group family.
- Silo Art Project: We invested in a silo art project at the Federal Mills, featuring a striking hand-painted mural by our talented artist and colleague, Sai Neoh.
- Geelong Community: We continued to support the Geelong community through events like the Forget Me Not Ball and the Longest Lunch, supporting the Barwon Health Foundation. We supported other local philanthropy, including Keely’s Cause, the Mackillop Christmas Gift Appeal, and the Meli Giving Tree Appeal
- Sponsorship: We continued to sponsor local clubs North Geelong FC and Cricket Club, St Joseph’s FNC, Geelong Soccer Club, Newtown Chilwell Football Netball Club, Geelong Galaxy FC
- Hamilton Spaces: We expanded our footprint into the Melbourne market with the EEMuir project in Laverton.
