From humble beginnings…
In 1995, David & Heather Hamilton bet it all on the belief that Geelong businesses needed more cost-effective office space, so they transformed a former wool store down the river end of Pakington St into the ‘Barwon Design Park’. As the site filled with many different small businesses and community organisations, they invested in a second site to keep up with demand. Fast forward to 2024 and son; Cameron and wife Penny now lead a team within Hamilton Group to manage 25 different properties, housing over 250 organisations that employ almost 2,500 people in the Greater Geelong region.
HOMEGROWN INSIGHTS & INTEGRITY
Our family’s journey mirrors the ebbs and flows of Geelong as a city. With deep-rooted local insights, we’ve persistently invested, evolved, and enriched our offerings to meet the evolving needs of local businesses and seize opportunities to attract new ventures to Geelong. We’ve dared to dream, taken calculated risks, toiled tirelessly, and embraced innovation with a can-do spirit and steadfast faith in Geelong’s potential. Today, our family network encompasses a diverse team of local staff, specialists, tradespeople, builders, planners, architects, and investors.
LOCAL EXPERTISE WITH GLOBAL RECOGNITION
“Fuelled by David’s mantra of “Tell me how you can do it, not how you can’t”, we’re driven by a passion to create inspiring spaces and turn ambitious concepts into reality. To achieve this, we persistently invest in, develop, manage, and inhabit our properties and precincts. Our commitment extends beyond individual projects; we prioritize creating meaningful, valuable, and sustainable developments that benefit the broader community. With a blend of local expertise and global perspective, we’re adept at navigating Geelong’s evolving landscape. Today, our focus remains on understanding both the immediate and future needs of businesses and organizations.

Heather Hamilton
Still very much an integral part of the business today, Heather and husband David created the company we now call Hamilton Group in the late 90s. Taking a giant leap into property investment and management with ‘Barwon Business Park’ (now known as the Woolstores), Heather’s early work paved the way for us today, and we’re proud to continue alongside her.
