The Fyansford Paper Mills is an industrial complex built circa 1870 and was the third-oldest paper mill in Victoria, operating until 1923. During World War II, the site was repurposed for the manufacturing of sea mines, and later used for quarry-related storage before falling into abandonment in the mid-20th century. More recently, the site has been repurposed and repositioned as a mixed-use, multi-tenanted complex accommodating hospitality, office, retail, storage, arts, and manufacturing uses.
The property is located on an escarpment along the northern bank of the Barwon River in Fyansford, approximately 6.0 kilometres west of the Geelong CBD. At its highest elevation, the site offers a north-westerly aspect toward Fyansford and a south-easterly outlook across the Barwon River, Buckley Falls, and the residential suburb of Highton.
In late 2024, we proudly acquired the Fyansford Paper Mills site—an iconic piece of local history with undeniable potential. True to our reputation for award-winning heritage restoration and urban renewal, we approach this responsibility with the utmost care and respect.
Our talented team is already hard at work developing plans to revitalise the precinct—retaining and restoring what makes it special, while ensuring it’s future-proofed for generations to come. As with all our projects, our goal is to honour the site’s historic significance and unique character, while making the space safer, more accessible, more sustainable, and more appealing across the board.
We look forward to sharing our vision soon.
